Hot!  That is all anyone is talking about right now. The temps have been at dangerous levels lately making it very hard to get through a day of fishing.  With these hot temps it has made fishing very tough lately for fisherman.  At the last Bass Assassins tournament out of Foggy Waters Marina eighteen anglers braved the tough conditions to battle it out.  Devin Artigue took home a well deserved win with his 5.81 lbs. limit.

Brutal Heat. That describes our July 12 th derby out of Manchac. Changing spots wasn’t just a gut feeling it, it was a chance to cool off. Good thing is Manchac offers a multitude of choices to run to. At blast off the 9 boats spread out to try and find some money fish and use the manual A/C a boat motor makes. Fishing was tough and the heat melted the brain making good decisions tough. When the weigh in time came the weights wasn’t as bad as expected.

Seghers Takes FPBA June Derb on Bayou Liberty

Flordia Parishes Bass Angers held their June event out of Foggy Waters Marina with 11 boats going out at blast off. The wind was out of the SSW at a good enough clip that the majority of the anglers decided to stay put instead of battling a angry lake. The heat was bad and the wind just seemed to seem to feel like a hair dryer blowing on you. The bite was finicky with a early low tide and water trickling in all day. The boat traffic and low water made for a mud line on the main river that increased as the traffic did. As always thogh, some people find 5 that are good enough to cut a check.
