The last Bass Assassins tournament was held on the West Pear and launched at Crawfords Landing.  The week before was full of off and on rain with some storms being pretty severe.  The river was at 11.5 feet at the Pearl River gauge and rising a foot a day.  The temps have been brutally hot and this day was no different.  Out of the 15 anglers who fished only one went north from the launch and the rest ran to get out of the unstable river.  Eric Ciko battled heat exhaustion and the tough conditions to take home the win and big fish.  He stumbled up to the scale and weighed in a 8.44 lbs. limit and a 3.43 lbs. kicker. ​

​ Over a pound behind him we find Steve Hadley in second with a 7.36 lbs. limit.  Sneaking into third we find Devin Artigue with a limit totaling 6.75 lbs.

We weren’t able to fish last Tuesday because of the weather. We did fish today, regardless of the weather. This was our classic for the spring/ summer series. Even with the weather 17 boats showed up to battle it out. At the weigh-in Barry Lee claimed 1st place and series champion with 5.30 lbs.

​Mike Lee claimed 2nd place and big bass ( 1 ) fish at 5.06 lbs 

Mike Marodis claimed 3rd place with 4.71 lbs.

The Double Nickel Bass Club fished their last tournament for points and standings in the spring and summer series on Tuesday morning. There were 18 boats that showed up to battle one another for the final standings. Guy Stegall claimed angler of the year honors for this series along with largest stringer and big bass awards. Congratulations to him on an outstanding season. In the end, it was Joe Firerson who came in first place with 5.03 pounds. Dwain Crumby placed second with 4.83 pounds and also won the big bass pot with a 3.72-pound fish. Mike Lee took third place with 4.82 pounds.
